HR Generalist
The Human Resources Generalist supports human resources operations at Straticon, a South Florida general
contractor and developer. This position is responsible for recruitment, onboarding, employee relations,
benefits administration, payroll support, compliance, and HR data management. The role requires a strong
understanding of HR best practices and employment laws and within a construction and project-based
environment.
Responsibilities
• Manage the full-cycle recruitment process for both field and office positions, including preparing job descriptions, posting openings, sourcing candidates, screening, interviewing, and coordinating hiring decisions.
• Conduct new hire orientations, ensure completion of required background checks and verifications, and facilitate a seamless onboarding process.
• Maintain the applicant tracking system and ensure accurate and timely candidate communication.
• Serve as the first point of contact for employee inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, and procedures.
• Support employee engagement initiatives and recognition programs to reinforce Straticon’s core values and company culture.
• Administer employee benefits including health, dental, vision, 401(k), and other plans and coordinate annual open enrollment and new-hire enrollments.
• Track and administer employee leaves of absence (FMLA, personal leave, etc.) and maintain required documentation.
• Audit monthly health insurance and other benefits invoices for accuracy and compliance.
• Maintain and update HR policies, procedures, and the employee handbook to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
• Manage unemployment claims and respond to Department of Labor requests as required.
• Maintain accurate employee data in HRIS systems such as UKG and Employee Navigator.
• Assist with special HR projects and continuous process improvement initiatives, including safety and training programs for field personnel.”
Required Skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships across all levels, including field superintendents and project managers.
• Highly organized with strong time management, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS platforms (UKG, Employee Navigator, or similar).
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.”
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive HR experience with emphasis on recruitment, benefits, payroll, and employee relations. Experience in the construction or project-based industry is strongly preferred.
