Walkers Cay

Walker’s Cay Reborn 2020, is the revival and reconstruction of the legendary big-game fishing, diving and resort island located in the Commonwealth of the Bahamas along the Abaco chain. The project includes pre-construction planning & design, incorporating renewable energy sources, environmental sustainability, ocean exploration and research and the implementation of new utilities (power generation facilities, WTP & WWTP). Additionally, the island will undergo a complete marina renovation to include the demolition and dredging of the marina basin and approach channel to incorporate the newly designed, state-of-the-art 90-slip hurricane resistant floating dock system with surrounding boardwalk to accommodate mega-yachts with a new fuel system, marina utilities, jetties and breakwaters. The upland phases of this well-known and unique island resort will feature 100,000 square-feet of new buildings along with the renovation of existing structures. This will include resort restaurants and bars, 76 cottage & villas, multiple pools, a world-class spa and fitness center, dockmaster’s office, ships and dive shop, welcome center, tournament green, bonefish lodge, staff housing and the renovation and expansion of the existing chapel to include wedding facilities. The island also features a 2600’ airstrip with Bahamas Customs and Immigration to accommodate travel by both air and sea. Along with Straticon, the elite team assembled to bring together the distinct and thoughtful vision of Mr. and Mrs. Allen includes, WGI and Dailey Janssen Architects.
